Adding hair extensions to a salon menu requires a suitable method, competent staff, a dependable supply process and a price that covers the full service. Start with a consultation and maintenance plan before buying stock or promising results.

## Build the service around costs and client suitability

Extension appointments can involve product supply, fitting, blending, removal and regular reviews. Revenue is not profit: account for hair, consumables, staff time, overheads, training and follow-up work. Demand and margins depend on your own clients and costs.

Decide which clients and goals your team can support, including when you should decline or postpone a fitting.

## Step 1: Choose methods your team can support

Compare [tape, micro ring and weft methods](/tape-vs-microbead-vs-weft-extensions-australia/) by application, removal, maintenance and suitability. No attachment system is automatically gentle or appropriate for every client.

Clip-ins can add a retail and fitting service, but still require product knowledge, colour matching and advice on weight and placement. Build competence in the methods you offer before expanding the menu.

## Step 2: Confirm specifications and supply terms

Ask for the material, length, weight, attachment construction, colour options and care instructions for each product. Confirm availability, delivery, exchanges and the process for a product concern before taking client bookings.

Original Diva supplies 100% human, silicone-free extensions. Use the current product pages for pack sizes and [contact us about wholesale access](/wholesale-hair-extensions-australia/). Confirm eligibility and current terms directly; do not build a price list around an assumed discount or guaranteed stock availability.

## Step 3: Plan training and assessment

Confirm prerequisites, supervised practice, assessment and follow-up support. Training should include consultation, placement, blending, removal, maintenance and when not to fit. A course’s length alone does not demonstrate competence.

Use our [training checklist](/hair-extension-specialist-training-australia/) to compare providers and qualification claims. Check insurance and the requirements relevant to your business before offering the service.

## Step 4: Build an itemised service price

- **Hair:** quantity, length, shade and the actual supply cost.
- **Time:** consultation, preparation, installation, cutting, blending and styling.
- **Operating costs:** consumables, staff, overheads and payment fees.
- **Ongoing work:** removal, refitting, maintenance and follow-up support.

Explain what the initial price includes and which later services are separate. As an Original Diva example, our Hunters Hill tape packages in 20-inch or 22-inch lengths and 20-inch micro ring / I-Tip packages are $160 per 25g pack, including hair, installation, cut and style. Weft fitting is quoted individually. These are our published retail salon prices, not a forecast of your costs or profit. See [current inclusions](/in-salon-services/).

## Step 5: Show real work and set clear expectations

With the client’s permission, photograph your own work consistently and describe the method, quantity and maintenance involved. Use genuine examples rather than guaranteeing that every client will achieve the same result.

Invite honest, voluntary reviews without discounts or incentives. Give clients a clear route to ask questions, book a consultation and obtain aftercare advice. Explain booking, cancellation and ongoing maintenance terms before they commit.

## Salon planning questions

### How much stock should a new service hold?

Base stock on confirmed demand, supplier lead times and the actual product pack sizes. Start with a manageable range and confirm shade availability before promising an appointment.

### Can extensions guarantee repeat revenue?

No. Fitted extensions require ongoing care, but retention, demand, costs and suitability vary. Track your own bookings, service time and gross margin.

### Where can I discuss Original Diva products?
